Q: I want to put found files to archive. How can I do that?
A: There are two ways accomplish it. The first one is to select and bring popup menu up. Then choose 'Add To Zip' option. The second way is to bring Explorer popup menu up (with shift button pressed) and use default zip utility.
Q: How can I find all files I created yesterday?
A: First you should choose a directory to search in. Then you need to go to "Advanced" tab and check "Date" first. Then you should select "created" from drop-down list box and set up yesterday's data in both data pickers. Now you are ready to start the search.
Q: How can I find files of several types?
A: To find files of several types you need to fill 'Search For:' field with several file extensions, divided by semicolon.
For example: *.txt; *.doc; *.rtf
Q: How can I search files in subdirectories?
A: Just check 'Search Subfolders:' box.
Q: How to find all files with mention of license in them?
A: You need to fill 'Find Text:' field with phrase like this: LICENSE AGREEMENT or something, and start search in the current directory (which is shown in 'Search In' field). Then you may select found file, watch its contents around this phrase and understand if this file is somehow concerned with licensing.
Q: I need to find all files where words 'using' and 'tool' are in the same line. How can I do this?
A: To implement such search you need to check 'Regular Expression' box and fill 'Find Text:' field with regular expression like this: using.*tool .
Q: I have a lack of disk space. I want to find the biggest files on my disk and move them to another one. How can I find these files?
A: Suppose you want to find all files, which are greater 100 Mb. First, you need to go to 'Advanced' tab and check 'File Size:' box. Then you need to choose '>' sign in the first field, enter 100 in the second one and choose MB in the third field. After finishing search, you may open folders which contain found files (by clicking right mouse button and choosing 'Open Containing Folder'), and to copy/move them.
Q: I want to get more disk space and find all file duplicates. Is it possible to do with FileSearcher>?
A: Yes it is possible and very easy. You just need to go to 'Advanced' tab and check 'Find Duplicate Files...' box. After that you need to set comparison criteria and run the search.
